Role of Parents

How the Co-op is Different:

GPCP combines the two most important ingredients for a successful first school experience: the expertise of a professional teacher and the best expert on your child...YOU!

Parental involvement is a crucial component of the GPCP. One

important benefit of parent participation is that there is a positive

relationship between parent involvement and a child's success in school.

When children regularly see their parents in the classroom, it

reinforces the importance of education. Parents are educators, too;

having parents in the classroom adds a new dimension and enriches

school life. Being in the classroom gives parents the opportunity to

see firsthand the struggles and successes of their child, and to also

assist the teacher in discovering how to best reach their child. Only in

a Co-op is there such interaction among parents, children and teacher - it is what makes the Co-op special.

There is a positive relationship between parental involvement and a child’s success in school, and this is why parental involvement is a crucial component of GPCP. Parents are their child’s first educators and having parents in the classroom adds a new dimension and enriches school life. From the parental perspective, being in the classroom provides an opportunity to see firsthand the struggles, success, and learning styles of all children in the classroom, and to also assist the teacher in discovering how to best reach their own child. Only in a Co-op is there such interaction among parents, children and teacher - it is what makes the Co-op special.

At no other time in your child's education will you have the opportunity to be this involved. Whether you are helping in the classroom or attending a board meeting, the school benefits from your input. Parent testimonials discuss how parental involvement is what has made the experience of attending our preschool so meaningful for the entire family. Because of parent involvement, our tuition is very affordable when compared to other preschools.
